I added lava rocks to the fire bin and now the flames seem to dance around more like a wood fire. The lava rocks help the pit retain/radiate more heat too. I was concerned about the temperature under the fire pit. My temperature gauge indicates the underside is 80 degrees and 900 degrees in the pit. Amazing. Suggestion or need: The hose supplied is too short. Directions suggest a 4 foot path away from the pit. The hose barely allows this to happen.
