The heel height is perfect to wear to work or casual, and dressy with the shiny patent finish. There are so many different versions on amazon, with a slightly higher heel - around 2 1/4 - 2 1/2", but I love this with a lower heel - much more versatile. It's actually 1.5", not 2" as in the description. I love this brand because it's so comfy. I purchased their Birkenstock-type sandals last year, and they were really nice, leather, comfortable. For this hot, probably short-lived trend I didn't want to spend over $100, and I tried several other versions on amazon, but the heel was still higher than I wanted, and they just didn't quite look as nice. For cooler weather may try tights or thinner ankle socks. I'm usually a size 7, and I picked up 7 Wide just in case and to allow for socks. They fit really well.
