Works on all small-leaved shrubs for even intricate topiary and cloud pruning. Also works very well on lawn edging. This machine is quiet, light, easy to manipulate and convenient to use. It just tugs and tears at the stems without cutting them, although it can cut grass adequately. The Stihl is more than twice the price and has about twice the power, so I hoped it would manage to trim the new growth on extensive yew and box hedges.
