That way they can't crawl up the sides. Just tip the cup over and tap the side until you've gotten enough into the habitat. **Q: Are they insulated when they are shipped?** A: They are packaged securely but not insulated. **Q: Can these be fed upon arrival? My tarantula slings arent eating the bean beetles i got them** A: I ordered this product last year. There were a good amount moving around and ready to feed to your pet when they arrive.
