It's got a build in memory of 8gb which is more than enough for it. I would say it is for people who need to record teachings or interviews, or for personal use. People who need to document the situation and need something for the budget. It's a really great product for the budget, you get a lot. Although the reason why I gave it 4 stars and not 5 stars is that I don't think it's for professional use, it's meant for consumers not professionals. It is plug and play with and computer with USB cable provided, plug in and it shows up as a mass storage device. One button operation, press to record and press again to stop.It also comes with a LAV mic, telephone cable bypass and a set of headphones, you can plug in the headphones and monitor in real time what it is being recorded.
