Very easy to install. I bought a previous one from a different brand and it did not hold up the hatchback for a Subaru 2012 outback. Purchased this one and gave it a shot. The hood struts went bad on my GX470 so I replaced them with these. They work very well and have plenty of pressure to raise the hood and keep it open. They are very stable with the hood open. They close easily with one hand. I believe they included all necessary hardware to install as well as different ends if needed to make them somewhat adjustable. They are a great price compared to auto parts store or oem replacements.
