Literally a half hour after I unboxed it, it was installed. And that includes the time I spent obsessively measuring everything to ensure that the mounting clamps were perfectly centered on the extension and divided it into three perfectly equal sections. (I worked with engineers WAY too long. LOL!) I experienced none of the slippage described in other reviews. That said, mine is centrally mounted on a road bike handlebar that flares out toward the center mounting point. Also, the handlebar itself has a black "matte" finish that may help the spacers grip better than they might on a chrome plated or other highly polished handlebar. After I tightened the clamp bolts, the extension didn't budge; it's as solid as can be. I used the thinner spacers/gaskets; a thicker set is included as well. Interestingly, the extension itself is a fairly small diameter. I don't know whether this is "standard" or not; it probably, because the Cycliq Fly12 I mounted on the extension includes a thicker spacer for its handlebar mount that allows it to fit perfectly. But it's something to be aware of. If the components you're going to mount on the extension don't come with spacers to allow mounting on a bar that's 31.8mm/1.25inch in diameter (approximately 100mm/4inches around), you'll have some work to do. All in all, this extension is a perfect fit for my bike, and does its job admirably. It was probably the easiest, most straightforward installation of any component I have ever put on any bike. When it comes time to outfit our other bikes with an extension bar, this is definitely the one I'll get. The dowel portion is small diameter..but even if it fit, this thing can only hold a couple pounds at most, it is designed to hold things like lights...you couldn't put bars on it. **Q: My handle bar clamp area is 35 cm. Do you think it will work?** A: 35cm is about 13.77 inches. Did you mean 35mm diameter? That is about 1 and 3/8 inches. If the handlebar on your bike is too small go to a hardware store and buy a small sheet of rubber. Make strips to fit inside the extension. It will clamp securely on that. Works for me. **Q: Can anyone tell me what the height of the extender is once attached to the handle bar?** A: It is adjustable by rotating the bar up or down. **Q: Can these be used on a Peloton spinning bike?** A: It would not for around my handlebar on my peloton.
