She was ecstatic and we were both impressed with the quality of the product, ink and packaging. She told me it makes her feel good just holding the pen. I personally like the "Old World" look and feel of the pens; the embossed metal is beautiful. It was also a real plus to have the instruction pamphlet included. The pamphlet covers care of the nibs, an intro into the different alphabets and basic information on how to do calligraphy. Even though I have calligraphy experience, the writing instructions included were nice and would be a great start for people new to the technique. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Nice set with minor problems *by A***. on Reviewed in the United States on November 4, 2019* I was very excited to receive my new calligraphy set, a nice pink box with 2 pens, 10 nibs (5 with some sort of lip or tiny reservoir and finer tips, and 5 broad-tip nibs), 4 small jars of ink and a glass rest for the pens.I will start with the good. The pens look and feel solid and durable, and they are both beautiful too. The box is nice and sturdy enough to keep as storage for the set. All the fine tip nibs work really well, I just LOVE using them. I got an email from the seller with information about the nibs and inks which proved very useful.Now the not so good. My set did not come with an instruction manual, as it is supposed to. Even though the email from the seller was good, I really wish I had a bit more detailed information.Now about the broad nibs, after several attempts following some of the recommendations I found online (such as cleaning and even slightly heating up the nibs) I still could not make them work properly. After several hours of attempts to use them my results have been moderate.The shimmering purple ink, which I nearly finished in less than 2 hours trying to make the broad nibs work, shows its shimmer on the paper in uneven streaks at random. Not particularly appealing to me. The gold ink jar had some sort of blob that wouldn't dissolve into the rest of the ink, regardless of how much I shook the jar, which made this color watery and very, very faint. Didn't like this either, but I am not particularly concerned about the inks. It is the quality of the pens that matters to me.In general I think this is is a nice set that would make a good gift.
