Those two are suggestions for future improvements only. It is said to be "water resistant, Heavy Duty Waxed Canvas." Heavy duty canvas yes, however not water resistant. My outdoor jackets and hats are oilskin (some may call them waxed cotton) thus waterproof. As a test, I placed the front of this pouch under a running faucet for about ten seconds, oops, it absorbed the water, yet did not soak through. Nope, not water resistant. My solution is use either Sno-Seal or Outback Duck Back Dressing on it. Both are used to waterproof canvas and cotton such as hats, jackets, pants, shoes/boots, gloves, and the like. Using them on this pouch will add much more resistance to water ingress, again not a complaint. Being as I am very familiar with oilskin and waxed canvass this pouch absorbing water is a bit disappointing, however an easy fast fix. Your question may be "will he return it" absolutely NOT!
