## Description

Product description Speedy Dual-Band AC1200 Wi-Fi With MU-MIMO and dual-band features, the AC1200 Wi-Fi AP can connect to over 30 devices while minimizing latency. The maximum number of simultaneous connections per AP is 128 devices. Boosted Wi-Fi Coverage with Beamforming Tested Wi-Fi coverage performance in four scenarios, achieved by Beamforming technology and two external antennas. If your space is too large for one access point to cover, you can expand your Wi-Fi coverage into a Mesh network by adding another Cudy AP. Works in Rain, Thunder, Dust, Heat, Cold The AP is protected by an IP65 standard case, shielding it from rain and dust when installed vertically. It also features 4 kV Lightning/Surge and 8 kV ESD protection for higher reliability in thunderstorms. Its working temperatures span from -40 °F to 149 °F (-40 ℃ to 65 ℃). Seamless Roaming for Smooth Wi-Fi Experience Enhance the Wi-Fi experience for your visitors by implementing a unified Wi-Fi name across your entire premises. With mesh technology, enjoy uninterrupted roaming as clients seamlessly connect to the strongest available Wi-Fi node without manual switching. Plug-and-Play Mesh Installation Simply Plug and Unplug for Mesh Setup Connect the PoE adapter LAN port to a Cudy Mesh AP/router/Mesh unit/VPN Router/AC to add the new AP to the Mesh network. Feel free to unplug it or keep using Ethernet backhaul after pairing. (Requires firmware newer than 1.15.28, the other Cudy Mesh device needs to be purchased separately) Leave the Rest to Adaptive Routing Adaptive Routing improves the system's awareness of the capacity used by each node. Once the backhaul path is jammed by clients or interfered with by environmental factors, it will automatically switch to a better path for improved stability. Guide to Wiring and Physical Installation Gigabit Port with Two PoE Options Supports two powering methods— 802.3at/af PoE (Max power: 11 W, Idle: 7.5 W) 24-57 V Passive PoE (Adapter included, not waterproof) If you need to simplify the wiring, we recommend using a PoE Switch that powers multiple devices simultaneously. See Cudy PoE Switches for more information. Mounting Kit Included A mounting kit is included in the box, supporting— Wall-Mounting Pole-Mounting Centralized AP Management Easily manage up to 200 access points with Cudy AP Controller（Model:C200P）, enabling efficient batch configuration and firmware updates through a unified interface.

Review: Great Range & Seamless Mesh Function - This Cudy outdoor access point works great. It is installed POE to my TP Link router. This Cudy outdoor access point has better range than either of my currently used TP-Link EAP110 outdoor access points. The Cudy mesh function works great. Remote living requires that my cell phone uses wifi to make and receive calls. The mesh function is seamless as I walk out of range of one Cudy mesh unit and into range of another Cudy mesh unit and my cell phone never drops my cell calls, email function or text function. I will be replacing my perfectly good TP link devices very soon with the Cudy brand to benefit from the mesh function and increased range! The next time I buy a router it will be a Cudy with the mesh function just because these Cudy outdoor access points work so very well.
Review: Works great as a repeater - Temp Installed this on my sailboat as a signal repeater while in the marina and it works well. My ball is approximately 100y yards from the broadcast location and the wireless access antennae is only temp installed about 3 ft above my deck on the mast. Has never dropped the signal in the last two months since it’s been installed. Marina WiFi speeds are slow at avg 30 mgb/s without the repeater on the ocasión that I could pick it up. Using this as a repeater I’m seeing almost the same download speeds of 25/26 mgb/s without just bit more latency. I don’t use this connection to stream, so I can’t attest to anything about that. I use this to keep my Victron Energy system online and viewable from anywhere in the world. I don’t live aboard so it’s nice to be able to check on things anytime I want. Peace of mind.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Solid performance and easy to use, but lacks some advanced features.
*by C***S on April 24, 2024*

This is a straightforward outdoor WiFi access point which, as is common for outdoor APs, comes with a pre-installed vertical pole mount. It supports 802.11ac/WiFi 5 with 2x2 MIMO on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz. There is no support for DFS channels, 160MHz channel width, or WPA3. Power is exclusively via PoE, which is expected for an outdoor AP, and works fine through my PoE+ switch. The AP is easy to set up once it boots - there's a wizard which guides you through the various configuration option, including AP/Router/WISP/Extender mode and other basic settings, and the interface for changing configuration after that is easy to use. Unfortunately it's also rather basic in terms of feature set - there are a few diagnostic tools, but there's no way as far as I can tell to set up a guest network on a separate VLAN. This is fine if you trust all the devices (or none of the devices) on your network and don't want to segment them off from each other, but if not it's a nice thing to have. Also, while the software is clearly based on OpenWRT there's no way to access the normal web interface with the full feature set. These limitations are both consistent with other Cudy network devices I've reviewed, but are still disappointing. I checked to see if newer firmware might make a difference, but while the updated version I found on the Cudy website advertises VLAN support, I can't find it anywhere in the UI. Performance at least is solid - testing with Speedtest my Pixel and Thinkpad which both have WiFi 6 support, I get a consistent 550-700Mbps worth the 1G uplink. I think that overall this AP will be perfectly fine if you have a simple network topology and don't need advanced features, but my existing APs already use a separate guest network at home so I'm not sure what I'll do with it long term.
