I put one end in the window groove and tipped the other side up a little to get it into the grove on the other side. Very easy to get into place. It is stable once installed. It is a good value for your money. It is made of hard plastic and has grip on top of the shelve. I was able to put my drinks, snack and my iphone on it at the same time. It is nice having this extra space and especially if you like to rest laying forward against the back of the chair in front of you. It comes with a fabric grey bag making it very portable. I would recommend. I wish it was deeper/wider to hold more but space is limited on a plane.

Really is useful if you are on a long flight in a window seat. Increases the area you can store things and I did have an Air Stewardess ask for details about it as she wanted one. Lightweight, so doesn't really affect your hand carry.

I bought this shelf as I just had to fly Southwest. It fits in their windows without issues. At first I thought it was too wide to fit the window but it fits perfectly! I’m a large guy so I can’t use the drop down trays. While I can’t put a full meal on the Spairtray it’s handy for drinks and my phone. Wish I had this years ago!
