They are super stretchy, and have remained so after several machine washes, with extra padding on the toes and heels. The 50% merino wool making them feel super warm, but also breathable; and a good length too, which don't ride down the leg when worn. A longer sock tis what we usually assume to be for men, but I've actually tried them on whilst out walking, so can confirm they are really comfortable, and warm on an icy day earlier this week.There are pairs in the pack, so I was able to wash and replace them before my partner noticed I'd worn the socks, but I suppose I'll have to purchase some more for myself.Really good quality, super warm, and comfortable, great value. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great house socks, warm *by M***N on 5 December 2024* I have a size 9 boots/ shoes i tried the medium size as it says up to size 10 UK, there not their tight around the calf of my legs, the larger XL was perfect a nice size comfortable 9 to 10 UK, which really shouldn't Suprise with my experience on Amazon sizes.Thier great nice and warm wearing in the house in winter and comfortable (XL size) and no sweating as the wool is breathable, however for Skiing in subzero temperatures i doubt it there too short and not thick enough (in my experience) walking in a UK Winter yes but subzero on high Mountains don't think so.for me the sock colours are fantastic bright and colorful with 2 washes no fadeing or shrinking at 30c (no tumble drier) the various colours are so nice. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Warmth and Comfort, But Starting to Fray *by K***A on 5 February 2025* I bought these thermal socks for myself for a winter mountain climb in Italy, and I’m really impressed with how well they performed. The quality is great—thick, warm, and even slightly water-resistant. We thought we’d need to wear two pairs, but one was more than enough. Even when my foot accidentally went too deep into the snow, my feet stayed warm!The only downside is that they’ve started to fray a bit after being worn quite a lot. If you save them for intense cold activities, they should last much longer.
