Some reviews mention that there is a strong smell of plastic - I didn't notice this. Other reviews complain about how loud the alarm is, when power is lost / during a power outage. It is loud BUT it is easily disabled if you have a PC ... simply download "Eaton UPS Companion" software from the Eaton site, connect the UPS to the PC via a USB cable and you can disable the alarm - along with other customisable features. All in all, very impressive - so much so, I've ordered the larger 1600 version for another task.

Una comodità non da poco, soprattutto se si vuole essere sicuri che, in caso di blackout, tutto si spenga in modo corretto. Una cosa però mi ha colpito subito: quando manca la corrente, l’UPS emette un cicalino davvero fastidioso, un “beep” ogni 5 secondi. Perfetto se lo avete in un ufficio, ma se lo tenete in casa… beh, se vi salta la luce di notte, vi sveglia sicuro. Per fortuna il metodo per disabilitarlo è semplice: • con l’UPS spento, tenete premuto il tasto di accensione per circa 20 secondi • quando sentite un beep continuativo significa che il cicalino è attivo • per disattivarlo fate un singolo click sul tasto di accensione • l’UPS risponderà con beep singoli che confermano che l’avviso acustico è stato disabilitato Da quel momento funziona in silenzio, senza disturbare. Per il resto, costruzione solida, dimensioni contenute e rumore zero durante il normale utilizzo. Non scalda particolarmente e la gestione via USB con il NAS è davvero un plus. Anche l’autonomia è in linea con quello che ci si aspetta da un UPS di questa categoria: sufficiente per far spegnere tutto senza rischiare di perdere dati o corrompere file. Non ho ancora verificato quanto dura la batteria con la mia configurazione (ho collegato router e ups) mi riservo di aggiornare la recensione In definitiva, un buon UPS “casalingo”, pratico, semplice e affidabile. Non è un prodotto professionale, ma per proteggere un NAS e un router in casa o in piccolo ufficio fa più che egregiamente il suo lavoro.

The Eaton UPS 5E Gen2 900 USB DIN was very easy to set up, has already proved it's worth through several power outages. Some reviews mention that there is a strong smell of plastic - I didn't notice this. Other reviews complain about how loud the alarm is, when power is lost / during a power outage. It is loud BUT it is easily disabled if you have a PC ... simply download "Eaton UPS Companion" software from the Eaton site, connect the UPS to the PC via a USB cable and you can disable the alarm - along with other customisable features. All in all, very impressive - so much so, I've ordered the larger 1600 version for another task.

Jestem posiadaczem tego UPS w wersji pierwszej. Jestem z niego bardzo zadowolony. Potrzebowałem kolejnego, więc wybór padł na ten sam model, ale w generacji drugiej. Niestety nowa wersja to krok wstecz względem poprzedniej wersji. Przede wszystkim kabel zasilający jest przymocowany na stałe. Nie byłoby to wielkim problemem, gdyby ten kabel był dłuższy, ale niestety nie jest. Kolejna rzecz to nie ma już w jednym urządzeniu zarówno gniazdek jak i wtyczek C13. Największy minus to jednak nieprzyjemny, drażniący zapach plastiku (?) wcale nie ustępujący z czasem. W segmencie urządzeń domowo-biurowych nie powinno mieć to miejsca. Zrozumiałbym drażniący zapach jakby to był sprzęt profesjonalny. W urządzeniu przeznaczonym raczej do domu czy biura jest to nieakceptowane. Takie urządzenia często stoją w pomieszczeniach używanych na co dzień, a nie w wydzielonych serwerowniach. Na minus również błyszczący element plastikowy przy włączniku, ale to akurat najmniejszy minus w całym zestawieniu. Urządzenie wydaje się działać poprawnie, przez USB można zmienić parametry (ale tylko na Windows 10, na Windows 11 oficjalne oprogramowanie nie działa), jest kompaktowe, ciche. Niestety ten zapach jest bardzo drażniący, również minusy związane z nieodłączalnym kablem zasilającym powodują, że jako wieloletni użytkownik poprzedniej generacji jestem mocno zawiedziony tą wersją urządzenia. Niestety, ale widzę tylko zmiany na minus. Mam nadzieję, że z zapachem po prostu trafiłem na wadliwą serię. Jeśli jednak taka jest natura tej wersji, raczej musisz mieć wydzielone pomieszczenie na te urządzenie. Liczyłem, że ten zapach wyjdzie z czasem, ale niestety tak się nie stało.
