I got an additional pad and made my own hook and loop because you have to keep the backing clean at all yime(between uses) or it will come off. **Q: what is the air flow reqmt?** A: This is pretty much up to the operator and what job and what project your working on. It is designed for a paint and body shop where as you need a lot of volume of air continuously without the sander slowing down from lack of air. Running full on at 12000rpms, the bigger the compressor(usually 5 hp and a large tank) is recommended. Professional body shops use larger compressors and larger tanks. I do small paint jobs and run 2hp with a 20 gal tank. This DA will have to "catch up" from the lack of air after a while. You can adjust the speed right on the Da which help slightly. But yes, this DA is well worth the $. **Q: How many rpm does it turn** A: This is an orbital sander. RPM is not an issue. Size of the orbit is more important. This unit is good for colorsanding and finesse work **Q: Is this thing really corded - electric like it says it is?
