They are hard to install (watch a youtube tutorial), but they protect well. A little tube sealant like Slime will give you the added security on the trail. Review: Very Tough. - This thing is tough. I cut a swatch out and tried to press a nail through. I had a very hard time even twisting it. the installation is a bit tricky. deflate the tire but not all the way. it should have a quarter inch between the tire and tube. Warm the lining up slightly. this will help with sliding it in. You can even use some baby powder inside the wheel if you are having a hard time sliding it in. I noticed I was getting a flat and THANKFULLY stopped. This thing fell out of my tire at 32mph and almost made me crash with traffic all around me. It had wrapped itself even more than shown on my hub (this was after backing it up quite a bit to get it to unwrap) and probably would’ve burned it up if I didn’t crash. My tube is ok. My tire is ok. IT SLIPPED OUT! I saw on the comments an easier way to put it in, by taping it to the inner tube, but as you can see that didn’t work. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. It’s too slick.
