For a start It does NOT get rid of large pores. Large pores are deep in the skin and this peel does not reach deep enough. What it does do however, is make the pores look 'cleaner'. So this peel probably gives a similar result as steaming 2-3 times per week and drinking lots of water for a few weeks - (so the peel is less effort than steaming pores). Down time: In my opinion (regarding the 4000) you'll be good in 9 to 11 days if you let it peel completely by itself (which you are supposed to do!) Ive just applied another one of these (which I've had stored from a previous purchase) but I wouldn't buy it again. it would be good for someone who'd like to test out peels to see how their skin reacts before they go on to the stronger stuff! (like me) I have very sensitive skin (sensitive as in if I wear glasses that press on my nose it leave a very dark mark for months, or if I use glycolic acid a few times in a row it make my chin and mouth area extremely dark!) but surprisingly this was fine for me to use. When you first use it, it burns like hell. I've purchased it for the 4 times now (and i barely feel it once applied). Its ok but not fantastic.
