That’s why with regular steel it isn’t magnetic when it’s hot, the pearlite and martencite phases convert to austinite when heated. Most stainless steel alloys stay in the austinite phase at room temperature hence why it isn’t magnetic. 18-8 isn’t a duplex stainless alloy... **Q: Does anyone know if the 8oz. butane/propane canister fits inside this cooking set, if you remove the 2 plastic cups?** A: Ditch both cups, get a ss cup (MSR, REI, or WM) that this pot will sit in. Turn the 4oz fuel canister upside down and drop it in the Stanley Pot. Put the pocket stove on top of that. You should have room for a spork, and some spice packs, a little dish soap and a small cleaning cloth. The SS cup is less weight than the plastic ones and you can cook in it. There are several YouTube videos on it. **Q: What is total weight for this set?** A: Hi Lilly. Cookset weighs a total of nearly 14oz. Without cups a weight of 7.5oz. I ditched the cups to save the weight and gain some room. Also ditched the plastic handle and put a split ring on. Hope this helps. pgorja. **Q: What's the most efficient way to clean the Stanley pot when you have limited resources on extended trips?** A: CLEANING NOTE: DO THIS WHILE ITS STILL WARM NOT HOT ! Just use dry/ moist sand or dirt to remove soot and anything left inside the kettle then wipe as as much as possible and rinse with clean water..after several camp fire uses mine still looks brand new! You can boil a little water in it to sterilize prior to using again you don't need to carry soap or steel wool and it's not bad for the environment. It's a win win. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excelente para camping! *by on Reviewed in Mexico 12 September 2024* Excelente producto, solo hay que calentar bien antes de usar para que no se pegue, llegó en menos de 24 horas! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Kit for Car Camping *by on Reviewed in the United States 19 October 2023* We got this kit for car camping, and it's awesome! The entire kit sits within the large pot, and there are image directions printed within the set on the underside of I think one of the pans so you know how to layer them to make it fit. The small frying pan and large pot heats up quick, so I use the lowest setting on my gas stove to cook. To boil water, the highest stove setting will heat up water very quickly. The frying pan has a movable latch which you must push towards the base of the pan and it cannot be moving or loose, otherwise, when you pick up the pan, the handle will move and the pan will fold over on itself. We've now used this kit for over a year for numerous camping trips, and it works like a champ! We probably won't upgrade for a very, very long time because it's durable. Cleaning burned off food can be a pain, but with a soak and a scrub, everything comes off fairly easily - we've never had issues with cleaning. There is also a small flat piece of plastic, which is a dish rack for the plates - it's ingenious and well thought out, because laying dishes out while camping can be annoying. It's a great kit for beginner campers, car campers, glampers, and backyard camping. Weight-wise, I wouldn't get this if you're rappelling up mountains, or going somewhere remote. Otherwise, it's really paid itself off in how many times we've used it, and will continue to use. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Quality *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 12 October 2018* Very happy , nice quality , a little smaller than expected but well designed ## Frequently Bought Together - Stanley Adventure Camp Cook Set - STANLEY Adventure All-in-One Boil + Brew French Press | 32 OZ - Stanley Wildfare Go 4-Piece Two Cup Stainless Steel Cookset | 32 oz Pot and Lid with Fold & Lock Handle | Camping Essentials for Your Camp Kitchen --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.us/products/565805174-stanley-adventure-base-4x-camp-cook-set-stainless-steel-3](https://www.desertcart.us/products/565805174-stanley-adventure-base-4x-camp-cook-set-stainless-steel-3) --- *Product available on Desertcart United States of America* *Store origin: US* *Last updated: 2026-10-15*
