Seal only two sides of the joint to maintain flexibility. Use masking tape on both sides for a cleaner, neater finish. Cut the cartridge tip carefully, preserving the thread. Attach nozzle and cut at a 45° angle, with an opening just larger than the gap to seal. Use a standard sealant gun. Apply with even pressure on the trigger, keeping the gun at a constant angle to the surface for best results. Smooth down the sealant within 15 minutes of application with a sealant smoothing tool. Remove the masking tape after 5 minutes of application. Sika is your best ally! Chucked both tubes in the bin, not fit for anything. Don’t waste your money. Range in price from £2 upwards in B&Q etc.. Cheaper ones work but are more prone to not pushing the plunger in the silicone tube square so there is more risk of the silicone coming out the back of the tube past the plunger instead of the tubes nozzle. This isn’t likely to happen with a newly opened tube of silicone however, just if you come to use an opened silicon tube in the future when the nozzle is likely to be blocked with set silicone.. if you follow what I mean... Dark or light?** A: Mine was light grey. Amazon then sent 2 more as replacements, both of which never dried. I looked at the date after seeing other bad reviews and noticed the date stamp is 01/03/22....over 3 years ago. Whether this is a manufacturing date or use by date, they're still only good for 12 months.
