If you've got a short neck length banjo they may be a bit on the light side but I reckon at that price they are worth a try anyway **Q: Help! complete novice, inherited a keech 4 string banjolele, broken strings, which set of strings do i need? thanks.** A: Well,for tenor banjo, light strings range from 10-34,medium 13-35,heavy 17-45.I don't know the tuning for a banjolele,but if you go for a medium set you should be ok.Heavy strings might put too much strain on the neck, and if you are playing chords, thin one's won't sound so good.It'll be a bit of trial and error ,I'm afraid.You'll have to check the strings on it at the moment.Banjo strings all have loop ends for attachment to the tailpieces far as I'm aware.Older instruments you sometimes have to loop and knot them yourself, but you are on your own with that one I'm afraid! **Q: This is the first time i have heard of an irish tenor banjo. i am going to try using these strings on my concert sized banjolele. will it work out?** A: I couldn't really say. Plain A string can help eliminate finger noise (looks nicer too). Quite thin strings however, so they can seem a little loose and dead (on the bottom strings). They seem to prefer being played with a celluloid pick, rather than nylon, as the softer edge of celluloid dampens the higher harmonics somewhat.
