Overall, I came away impressed.The biggest strengths are what isn’t in the formula. It contains no parabens, sulfates, phthalates, dyes, or phenoxyethanol, which immediately puts it ahead of many mainstream children’s body washes.Instead of harsher cleansing agents like SLS or SLES, Aveeno uses a much gentler surfactant system (Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Lauroamphoacetate, and Coco-Glucoside). Combined with glycerin and oat extract, it cleans well without leaving skin feeling stripped or overly dry. The addition of oat extract is another plus since it’s well known for helping soothe sensitive skin and support the skin barrier.I also appreciate that it uses sodium benzoate as the preservative instead of some of the more controversial alternatives. I didn’t find any known carcinogens or formaldehyde-releasing preservatives in this formulation, which was reassuring.My only real criticism is that it still contains fragrance.
