**Q: Would this be ok for fossil hunting?**
A: I used this hammer for exactly this purpose and it's done well. Mind you I don't have anything to compare it to.

**Q: could you use this for facing stone?**
A: I used to use a bolster chisel to take 1/4" off all the edges of the stone to make it square for laying, and leave the face.

**Q: Would you guys in the know.. please advise if you would call this a masonry hamer please? I'm going to attempt to break up a concrete mantle piece🙈**
A: It’s a brick hammer not concrete hammer,  you could use it but it wouldn’t be the right tool for breaking concrete

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ It's a good hammer for fossil hunting

I bought this hammer for fossil hunting. I've only used it once and it looks like it held up ok with no signs of bending or breaking. After several hours of use breaking rocks and getting soaked in salt water, it did start to rust a bit, but nothing to worry about and it doesn't show any signs of damage. The tiny hole at the top got filled with sand and it looks like it's rusted on the inside. The handle is comfortable to hold and absorbs some of the force of the impact. As I am not a builder, I can't say this will be fine for breaking bricks all day, but it is a good hammer for lighter uses like fossil hunting and the odd nail.
