Good ink density, so you can always read what you have written. Consistent flow so you get consistent lines, of the same thickness. Contain lots of ink so they last for ages. Somehow, magically, the pens don't dry out if you leave the caps off = still ready to go the instant you put pen to paper. They're available in a wide variety of colours, but I mostly buy black and blue. They're also available in a range of tip sizes, which are a bit confusing. Is micro thinner than fine? I always need to check. Seriously good pens that work all the time, with no blobs or gaps or tantrums.
