In school I purchased 2 mdf stethoscopes, my first last 3 months until it was stolen, the second gave me 18 solid years of use day in and day out. Some of the rubber started to go and the ear piece has been replaced more times than I can count. This spring the quality of sound has become muffled and I came to terms with needing to find a replacement. Imagine my surprise that mdf still sells this stethoscope for almost the exact same price that I paid in 2008. Same packins and same quality. As a person that is very much creature of habit I decided that mdf has been excellent throughout my career and that instead of upgrading to something with more bells and whistles I'd stick with the tried and true.Here's what I love. The mdf stethoscope is a great entry level stethoscope that just simply works and won't break the bank. I've had thousands of patients with rhonchi, rales, heart arrythmias, low blood pressures, and all matter of bowel tones. Everytime I've been able to consistently hear what it was I was trying to listen to. Inside the box includes extra ear pieces, a clip on name plate, and an adult bell diaphragm replacement.There isn't much i don't like but one complaint is the ease in which the adult and pediatric bell can be rotated.
