I was looking for a conditioner for my Redwing charcoal rough and tough Iron Ranger boots, with the goal of it not darkening the charcoal leather. I applied the Saphir shoe cream by hand and initially the cream darkened the leather very slightly but dried quickly to the original colour. Very well pleased with the product. Conditioned the leather nicely without changing the colour. Expensive but you pay for the best with Saphir. Review: Superb! - Recently bought some Red Wing Chukka boots, in their Briar Oil Slick leather. It's a beautiful leather, and I knew I wanted something that wouldn't darken it, but would maintain it. Some research on youtube (Kirby Allison's channel was one) and decided on this. And it worked out perfectly, the leather stayed true to it's colour, and I know it's being well cared for. As the boots are pretty low maintenance this should last me a fair while. Using this to feed red wing iron rangers and Alfred sergeant field boots both with waxy leather. It doesn't darken colour as much as many other products, is rapidly absorbed and won't leave a sticky, over greasy finish. The old saying if you look after your shoes they will look after you couldn't be more true. My sergeant's are over twenty years old and have walked through fields and snow and still looking like new.
