I like handles which are rounded top & bottom for comfort, but flat on the sides for better control and feel of angle. Also not too thick. It's a perfect paring knife for light use, and does not attempt to double as a mini chef's knife (I like those too, but if you are going to have multiple knives you don't need each one to be 2 things).
