Sliding two shims against one another allows for fine-tuning the thickness of the fitting. It saves needing to cut, shave and sand wood blocks to thickness, Just shorten (cut) the length of shims to fit the trem cavity, then slide the shims over each other to get the exact thickness needed to block the trem. Once done, glue the shims together, then put into place in the trem cavity. I find this method of blocking-the-trem easier than some of the other solutions. Review: Nifty product for working around problems - Useful addition to my working cupboard. I fitted new kitchen kickboards and these are really quite tricky to fit so I user these wood shims to secure them in place rather than faff around with clips / and / or screws.
