Are the wings separate or attached?** A: The body is a one piece suit with Velcro closures on the back. The wings are not attached. They have elastic loops to wear over your shoulders like a backpack. The tail is attached with Velcro so it can be removed. **Q: What size would be best for a 4 year old who is just under 40 pounds?** A: It depends really on their height. I originally got my 6 year who’s 40lbs a small.
