I can't begin to guess what shortcuts were made to make this racquet cost much less than the rest of the Selkirk line, because all the components are good quality. It is possible the rubber grip was a concession to lower cost. It is one-piece plastic material molded to appear as it were wrapped. It isn't as sticky as others I have tried, but I don't have any complaints about it.

As a beginner in the Pickleball sport, I have found these paddles to be quite satisfactory and much preferred over wooden ones. These paddles play quite well. Purchased 20 of them to be donated to park district pickleball programs. They replaced wooded paddles being used. Everyone likes using these over the wood paddles.
