I also couldn't figure out if should peel off a wrapper before I use them, because there IS excess material which looks like there is a sealed wrapper around these (so the edges aren't smooth at all) - but I ended up not trying to peel. I would have expected a 360degree smooth material when talking about a silicon product, but hey, I mean they would have said "Peel it off first" if we were to peel something off I guess. As others pointed out you need to use less makeup as this applicator doesn’t absorb any. Now I’m not a professional at applying makeup but I found it a bit tricky to get it even with this.. maybe because it doesn’t absorb or I need more primer. If I go over it a couple times it will eventually blend in but I used my fingers to help it in the end.
