Review: Very well-made and effective; helped solve my deadlifting grip problem - I bought the Point Five (0.5 / 120 lb) model a couple weeks ago and am very happy with it. I began deadlifting late last year and found recently as my pulls reached 350 lbs. that my double-overhand grip was failing, limiting how much I could lift. As other reviewers have noted, choosing the proper model is tricky. I read reviews and gleaned from a couple users who also deadlift that the 0.5 might be a good place to begin. It was. I couldn't close it completely at first but am improving. (I'm a middle-aged man of average height.) This model will probably last me two months or so and then I'll have to move up to the next one. Like barbell training, one gets stronger by using an easier gripper to warm up, then doing three sets of low reps using a challenging gripper, and then recovering from that workout for a couple days before training again. I've been lifting for a couple years and so have some callouses on my hands from the barbell. I can understand how the knurled grip on this gripper would be tough on sensitive hands. All I can advise is to stick with it and you'll develop tougher skin. The gripper is very well-made. You shouldn't use it every day or you'll fail to see improvement and will injure yourself . Like weightlifting, your grip won't get stronger via using the gripper; it will get stronger by RECOVERING from using the gripper. Do a workout using the gripper no more than 2-3 times per week. **Q: I have Walmart medium strength grippers. I do them ok  I want to move up but not so much that I can't do themWhat Strength COC gripper would suit me?**
A: I have those walmart ones and they are easy. If you can do a set of 12 it is time to order the CoC "Guide". I would say they are a little tougher than the walmart ones. I read the walmart ones are 50lb and the CoC Guide is 60lbs so that seems right. Great quality. Or get to where you can do 3 sets of 20 with what you have and get the 80's.

A: For an adult, normally if a person is ready for serious grip strength training but has not specifically trained with even a plastic-handled sporting goods store hand gripper or done any crushing work, we recommend that they start with the No. 1250 Captains of Crush Trainer gripper, or a No. 1402 CoC Sport gripper. If you have been working with sporting goods store grippers and have worked up into high reps, or if you use your hands daily in a stressful physical task, like construction work, then we recommend starting with the No. 1251 Captains of Crush No. 1 gripper. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Worth the money

Not cheap but the best grippers on the market in my opinion. The knurling on the handles is excellent, and the grip strength required to close each gripper seems accurate to what is stated. Meaning a 100lb gripper feels like it takes about 100lbs of force to fully close. I also like the gradual increase in strength needed to close each gripper (60,80,100,etc.) the other brand I had been using went in increments of 50lbs which made progress difficult since each new gripper was significantly harder than the last. If you're considering these and you're serious about your grip strength just do it, they'll last a lifetime.
