Crispy, crunchy pizza is as easy as one, two, three with the Silpat Perfect Pizza! Silpat's proprietary silicone and fiberglass mesh is our own formulations made in our factory. This is not a cheap industrial silicone that is present in other silicone products. Silpat is especially great for working with sticky materials such as gooey dough, taffy, caramel, or anything your imagination allows. I would say I don’t just use it for pizza. I use it whenever I’m reheating something in the oven or if I just need something to Maintain my nonstick pan. The quality is great. I will continue to support this brand because I have yet to find a better one. I don’t think I could honestly.

While one is in the oven, I use the second to lay out the dough and prep the second pizza. This makes for a great "pizza and movie night" system. Theres always a fresh pizza coming out of the oven and everyone takes one or two sizes, so you get to try multiples toppings/types. I STRONGLY recommend buying a pizza stone and using a large spatula to help pull them from the oven. I think these would work fine with fairly loose dough too. I've never had dough soak through the mesh mat.

**Q: Does the manufacturer say if these are dishwasher safe?**
A: EASY CLEANING

Wipe the SILPAT™ with a damp, soft sponge and then rinse with clean water.
Shake to remove excess water and dry in open air.
A weak solution of detergent or soap may be used if needed. Use a neutral pH detergent (pH=7).
Dry in an oven at 212°F (or 100°C) for a duration of 2-3 minutes.
Store flat or rolled.
Note: The oily feeling after washing is normal, as is discoloration. Strong flavored foods may leave a trace of their scent on the SILPAT™.

**Q: Can Silpat be used on a cast iron pizza pan?**
A: Sure, the surface won't matter.

In fact, a cast iron pan might be BETTER ( as you probably know) for pizza as the cast iron will stay hotter when you're putting it in the pan.

**Q: Can you bake bread or cookies on these?**
A: Yes you can.

**Q: Can this be used on a grill to grill pizza?**
A: Not directly on a grill.
