The instructions need to be re-written, I've contacted the mfg twice on how to operate certain functions. This will not (at least I can't get to change) record more that about 1 hour of a trip broken down into multiple 3 minute video files plus numerous mini files when someone walks past the car. The claim of seeing license plate #s on screen is only true if you replay the file on a 70" TV. You cannot zoom on the tine screen on the camera or transfer to a smart phone in the field. Night time video with a lot of oncoming headlights is not very good. The replay picture is very steady with very little bounce in it. It needs to stay connected to a power source while operating which is fine by me but you need to snake the wire all the way around the windshield to get to the power port. I have more than enough wire in my Escape & Rogue. It comes with 2 mounts, suction cup & stick tape. I've only used the suction cup. Camera stays in place but the glass must be clean. I only use this for travel to record stupid so this is perfect for me. I wanted a dash cam in case I was involved in another accident like I'd had recently, so I could show it to the responding police officer. As I entered an intersection where my light had just turned green, the other driver turned left in front of me. He claimed that his light was still yellow and hadn't turned red yet. Luckily, another driver, who only stayed around because his car was struck by flying debris, sided with me that the car I struck had run a red light. If I'd had this cam, I could have proven who was at fault without a witness. I would have had to be able to play back video, on the spot, and this camera doesn't have any instructions on how to do that. After a lot of back and forth with the seller, we finally figured out that to playback video on the camera, you press okay then press the menu button for two seconds which takes you to the cameras files. You can play them by going back and forth between the okay button and menu.
