Soft rubber material, so no hurting if your kiddo throws, sits on it, etc. They're well detailed and look rather realistic. The color changing is awesome to watch and happens really fast. The glow in the dark works really well and doesnt take long to charge (I only did a few seconds to see how they work). There are a variety of sea critters. The book is awesome as well. The pages come white and all you have to do is add water to watch the magic come alive. I really recommend this kit for anyone who loves sea animals and wants a new addition to the bath toys. Also, if dried well, doesnt seem like these will mold, so they can be safely used for a long time. We love them!
