If the barrel were tapered just a little more the cap would fit better. The nib on this pen is not replaceable. If you want a different nib than the one that comes with the pen look for another pen. If you're looking for a well made, solid pen that writes comfortably this one is hard to beat. I use an old bottle of Sheaffer Skrip Jet Black ink with this pen. It's the same ink I've used for many years. It is very dark black, flows nicely, dries quickly, and does not clog any pen I've used it with.
