They are easy to grow, easy to manage in crop room and easy to post harvest. They can be dried and are typically eaten cooked. Oyster mushrooms are beloved the world over for their delicate texture and mild, savory flavor. Oyster mushrooms are loaded with protein, fiber, vitamins, minerals and other important nutrients. How to Grow: 1.Substrate Preparation: Immerse substrate (paddy straw/ wheat straw) in water for 14-16 hrs to soften the straw. After it remove excess water, pour boiling water and cover it to disinfect the straw. Subsequently remove water and spread it on clean surface so that excess moisture evaporate and 65 – 70% moisture remains in it. To check proper moisture in substrate squeeze it hard in your hand, if no water comes out and only palm gets lightly wet then moisture is at required range. 2.Seeding: Brake the spawn in grains and mix it with the substrate. Fill in the plastic bag, close it tight with rubber band. Make some holes in bag. 3.Incubation: Keep the mixture in suitable environment for a few weeks to allow the mycelium to colonize. 4.Fruiting Stage: Once fully colonized, expose the mixture to indirect light and fresh air. Mist regularly to maintain humidity levels. 5.Harvesting: Oyster mushrooms will be ready to harvest in a few weeks. Cut them at the base when the caps are fully formed.
