The product took a day or two to decompress out of the vacuum seal. The cushion comes with a thank-you card and a QR code from the manufacturer that links to a how-to video. I opened the vacuum seal and allowed the cushion to decompress for a couple of days.Initially, I thought the design was too simple, but now I realize it is a somewhat clever design; the back support is a foam seat and back cushion with some extra foam in the lumbar area. Adjustable clips run from the upper back and attach to the front of the seat cushion. This forces you to sit up straight and sit against the lumbar support.In terms of pain relief, the product somewhat alleviated my back and butt pain when sitting for long periods of work. In terms of support, the product is effective, however I would prefer if the lumbar support height were more adjustable. Overall, the cushion is comfortable, but it may make you feel like you are forced to lean forward, which is the point.
