The pillow is firm but squishes softly when you put your head on it. When sleeping I notice pillow keeps slipping above my head. I don't really like the longer arm part, it's too flat, not the same thickness as head portion. I am use to hugging a pillow so this portion is not right for me. I sleep better with longer arm part on my back and hugging a pillow. Definitely give good rating for soft firm head support.
