A non serrated knife does not cut tomatoes smooth, it will basically smush them! **Q: Does this machine also slice tomatoes, cucumbers etc.?** A: It slices about anything - except it turns tomatoes into mush when you chop them. **Q: Is it dish washer safe?** A: Yes, I put mine on the top rack of dishwaher and no problems.
