For me to use it I have to NOT put his back legs in the padded openings. The padded openings push his legs together and he won't pee. **Q: My dog pulls a lot and chokes herself with a collar. Is this high enough up to choke her when she pulls?** A: It controls them in a different way. My dog is a rescue and had open wounds on his neck when I got him from pulling. You are in control of the spine, not the neck. **Q: Is this machine washable?** A: Yes. I have washed it twice in the machine. It is a well made item and I feel it has saved my crazy little dog from harm. He is a rescue and an escape artist. It is not made for what I use it for.
