U can use a Philly collar for the shower it is made of foam and can get wet. I am a wound care nurse by the way. Good health. **Q: can i wash my head / hair while wearing this collar?** A: It would be difficult to wash your hair while wearing the collar. Much of the collar has velcro pads, if they get wet you would have to remove to dry pads. I had 4 vertebrae fused in my neck, after the 1st week I just removed the collar to shower per my surgeon's approval. **Q: Can I return this, if it does not fit correctly?** A: Not sure. I tried to find an option but I couldn’t see that. **Q: is this for men as well as women?** A: Yes.
