My 11 year old is able to drive it on his own, it can go pretty fast, it's big enough we don't take it to our neighborhood pool unless there aren't many people. The batteries last about 30-45 minutes of my toddler just full throttle around the pond. Luckily our came with two batteries, as long as they are both charged they have a fun filled couple of hours. the boat zips around the pond at amazing speeds and the turning is quick. with my toddler at the controls, we have no flipped once. One con we ran into was when the battery died - it died, no reserve. we had to go rescue the boat from the middle of the pond.
