The arch support helps to keep my plantar fasciitis at bay, with no pain. I can wear them all day in my classroom, where I am on my feet for long times. The soles are thick, but not unattractive. The material on the top straps of the flip flops are soft and stretchy, although not water resistant. I've worn them daily while running errands and to the beach, with minimal stretching. I do not recommend wearing on long distances or on uneven ground, out of fear of rolling an ankle. They do not have any ankle support.
