Review: Worthwhile purchase, which actually works. - I bought this product, as i found an old JVC VHS recorder in my parents garage, during a clear out. Out of morbid curiosity, i wanted to see if this unit still worked, even though it was caked in a couple of decades of garage crud and mouse dropping were found inside. As part of the clean up i wanted to clean the heads. But thinking that the VHS unit was beyond dead i didn't want to spend too much on a head cleaner. Nor did i want the faff of using the liquid cleaner process. So this was bought with little of hope of it actually working. After getting a vacuum and air duster in the unit to clean it out, i tried a VHS tape to see if anything would appear on the screen. All I could hear was sound, that was muffled and warbled, there was no image on the screen. I popped in the cleaning tape, let it run to the end, swapped it out with the normal tape and there was an improvement. The sound was clear, but still no images. All in all, i used the head cleaner 8 times to get to a point where sound was clear and the image was stable, without any distortions. So a great value product that does work well. It just depends on how dirty the heads are, but you will see improvement.
