I am wearing sports socks, they are not thick. The boots are snug enough. I reckon you could wear these all year round. Though in winter you would need thick socks as not exceptionally warm at all. But I like them a lot. They are warm enough and very comfortable. I cut the draw string off and pulled the string through until it snapped free. There’s nothing worse walking round a field to have soaking feet after half an hour so these are a life saver in winter or when it rains heavy.I’m a size 10 and find the fit is perfect with the use of heavyweight socks. A size down therefore wouldn’t be the end of the world if you don’t like wearing thick socks.The insides are lined nicely so my feet actually stay warm. This does mean however that after wearing for a prolonged period, your feet are sweating.
