Review: Sturdy functional and looks good - This is a high quality lamp which is easy to construct and easy to rebox. The sturdy metal pole/tube is made of a strong metal, not like some other floor lamps. The base is heavy so the lamp will not topple over, and the torchiere shade is also made with a sturdy plastic. It is perfect for a dorm room, but honestly, this is the 3rd one we bought; we have 2 of these lamps already in our living room. It provides ample lighting for a bedroom, and I really can’t say enough good things about this lamp. We initially bought a lamp from Target that was $10 cheaper but it died 1/2 way through second semester (not even a whole year!); this lamp has lasted us over a year of daily use with no issues. It is worth every extra penny.
