Review: Fantastic - I bought these shelves for my hallway. I always avoid buying shelves as my husband isnt a Diy man AT ALL. But this was too good an item to pass up as a lightening deal. The reviews suggested it was a good buy. I received the item the next day. It came in a black cardboard presentation box, all parts secure. The wood is quite light weight; this was to be expected but not? If that makes sense. It felt really cheap. However we perservered and read the basic instructions. We attached the brackets to the wood 15mm from the edge and used a spirit level to make sure it is straight on the wall, making dots on the wall before drilling holes. The instructions specify to hang the bracket first? Anywhoo, we drilled the holes, keeping some gap to take the bracket and it held up perfectly! Really impressed with how it looks! Ive put quite a few bits on it and it seems to hold up just fine. Wasnt as scary to put up and the other half is getting better at the diy lark.

**Q: Has anyone put these the other way? So upside down?**
A: Hi. No I haven't and I'm not sure it would work. The brackets which hold the shelves (the shelves sit on them and are screwed in place) would be visible. Also, they are attached to the wall using key hole notches (narrower at the top that the bottom) so if they were upside-down I'm not sure they would be as securely held in place. Hope that helps.

**Q: How is the wood?**
A: The wood should be Paulownia and easily hold my marble sculpture, two glass candle holder and bluetooth speaker. Strong and stable.

**Q: All my furniture is rustic oak, do you think these would match?**
A: Yes I’d say so. We are a rustic/hipster/vintage home style house and these are awesome. We’ve had some great compliments and they fit in really well.

**Q: Do you recommend using these shelves in a bathroom?**
A: they should be fine  , we have had ours in the garden and with the resent wet weather they have been solid no signs of rust .

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Not perfect but pretty happy with these as long as they last.

These are nice to look at when up and didn't have too much trouble putting up using fixings supplied so pretty positive. These are for light weight items as the wood is not very strong or deep and could be easily marked. If shelves had grooves underneath for brackets it would be much easier putting them together. Notice that picture has wood overlapping at each end otherwise probably will be less secure/strong. Use a screw bradle for starting off holes in shelves and a normal bradle for marking holes in wall in centre of round bit of hole for wall and this should make your life a lot easier. You may have to take shelves off until you are happy you've tightened screws in wall tight enough for snug/stronger fit. So if you follow this advice and bear in mind they are not heavy duty then these are fine. If you want to put lots of items or heavy items on shelves you require then other bigger/stronger shelves will be more appropriate. Clues in the word decorative. We are pleased with them for the price.
