I was able to secure a Sportrack roof cargo box down with just the hardware included here carrying about 50 lbs of gear. This is much better alternative instead of messing with the awful system of bolts and brackets that came with the Sportrack. The steel is strong and handled my trip like a champ. Haven't tested with a heavier load, but the steel is very strong already.
