For sure, these are not high-end gloves, but they are still quite nice. While they are probably meant to wear mainly with costumes, they can definitely be worn for events like a wedding or a prom. I have paired these gloves a few times with a formal gown and they haven't looked out of place or gimmicky. Lastly, I was quite pleased with the shade of silver -- definitely a more muted hue, closer to a gray than to a shiny metallic silver.
