I used this along with closed cell foam to soundproof a drain fall pipe running through the dining room ceiling and wall from second floor bathroom to basement. Wrapped the fall pipe, added some addition acoustic batt and vapour barrier in ceiling joist cavity, and closed up the drywall. It's now absolutely silent - completely solved the problem. Great stuff

We bought a new-to-us house that was built in the 80's and one of the things we noticed during our initial inspection was the tremendous amount of noise and sound coming from the drain fall pipe that runs through the dining room wall from the 2nd floor bathroom. I applied this to the back wall of my diesel truck behind the seats and on the floor and it helped cut down the noise. It was easy to cut with a pair of scissors or utility knife. I stuck it on with Velcro so I could remove it if I needed to we’ll see how long it stays up. No odors. So far happy with the product.
