I suffered from recurring UTIs for 6 months - getting new antibiotics every 2 weeks! I was getting so frustrated with the lack of success in taking antibiotics, the cost of doctor visits and prescriptions and fear that my UTIs would eventually spread to my kidneys. I started doing research to understand the trigger for my UTIs (sex) and the cause of them (bacteria entering the urethra during sex). I learned about wiping front-to-back, washing before and after sex, voiding after sex - these things helped A LITTLE but did not solve the problem. I think, with the addition of these tips, that the frequency of my UTIs may have decreased from every 2 weeks to every 3 weeks. Not much of a difference.After a completely failed attempt to cure my UTI with yet another antibiotic, I decided to try D-Mannose after reading the reviews for Clear Tract on Amazon. I took 5 doses (3 capsules per dose) the first day and honestly didn't see much difference. I decided to keep pushing through and took 3 doses per day for about a week. I didn't think it was working until one morning I woke up and realized that I didn't have to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night! The next day, I didn't have the urge to go during the day as frequently as before. And the following day....I was completely back to normal!I continue to take 1 dose per day and take an extra dose after sex. This has helped tremendously. Whenever I feel that little tinge coming on, I just take an extra dose and it's gone the next day. I haven't had to get another prescription for UTIs since taking D-Mannose months ago!Give it a shot!UPDATE - 4/2/2013: While this d-mannose product is good, i've found one that's even better - Solaray D-Mannose with CranActin!!! The biggest difference is in prevention. Even when taking the 1 dose per day (and extra dose after sex), I found myself still frequently getting UTI's with ClearTract after sex. I was able to take a few extra doses a day to get rid of the UTI, which was wonderful, but I would love to not even get them in the first place! With the Solaray product, I took 2 doses of 2 capsules and got rid of my UTI the same day and have continued to take 2 capsules a day and have NEVER gotten another one!
